 <@Anton{Politoed}>
hey guys i made pizza for the occasion https://i.imgur.com/0yZXwPS.jpg
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
hello
 <Rose>
I keep accidentally booting myself out because I'm on the irc cloud mobile app and I keep swiping left thinking that'll open the side bar like Discord
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
That sure is a lot of cheese
 <Rose>
But that just takes me back a screen
 <Rose>
That's a good pizza
 <@turb3>
hype
 <@turb3>
i'll be around in a few minutes since i'm finishing up work things still
 <Lakituthequick>
Hello there
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
It's the most wonderful time of the year
 <NinjaSquid>
hello ltq
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Awards Committee meeting time
 <Rose>
I'll have to leave a bit early probably, but I'll be here for at least an hour
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
awards are canceled
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
ac is now animal crossing
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
how was everyone's bunny day
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
>:|
 <Rose>
Bunny Day bad
 <Uniju>
i feel like it lasted a lot less long than it did last year but it might just be that i play less now than i did a year ago
 <Rose>
I even roasted it in my staff notes this month
 <NinjaSquid>
i dunno, it's been a while since I played Animal Crossing
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
possibly
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
also it happened last year at the beginning of the pandemic
 <Rose>
I'm pretty sure Bunny Day lasted like three weeks last year
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
a new world
 <Rose>
Or at least it felt like that

Goombuigi has joined #mwikiawards
 <Uniju>
it was right after the game came out too so everyone who was starting out and needed resources was just getting eggs instead
 <Gabumon>
did they do the egg thing again
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
yes
 <Rose>
I'm pretty sure Bunny Day is what killed my enjoyment when I was first starting
 <Rose>
Everything was eggs and then I forgot to play again
 <Smasher>
:hutaowobble:
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
meeting about to start, just guzzled a full liter of iced tea to ensure I'll piss my pants as I refuse to move away from my computer in the next 2 hours
 <BBQ_Turtle>
I believe I heard that they reduced the number of eggs this year though?
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
mcantonmas
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
also, welcome everyone, thank you for coming!
 <Smasher>
i havent played animal crossing in almost a year
 <Lakituthequick>
:luma:
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i never played animal crossing :partyhonk:
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
as of this (last) minute we have begun our first Awards Committee meeting of the year
 <Rose>
🎉
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
a lot of you are veterans of at least one year with this, but some peeps are new
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so I will start with a brief introduction
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
hi, I'm Anton, I like pretzels, peanut butter, chocolate, and spending all of my money on the above
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
the awards committee is a group of people who gather each year to fuss over minor details on each year's awards ceremony and all associated events

Goombuigi has left (Client Quit)

Goombuigi has joined #mwikiawards
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
all things with the polls, the nominees, the questions, spelling, syntax, everything
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
tournaments
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
presentations
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
ceremony day, timing, everything
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
i've been graciously elected the Director for the...6th year now?
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
turb is our Sub-Director
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Hooded_Pitohui will be leading the Community Awards as is the assignment of the current 'Shroom Director should they be cool with that
 <Gabumon>
trifecta!
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
You know I'm good for it!
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Lakituthequick is our Record Keeper which means he's the guy who keeps things in check while I bumble around a hundred thousand documents, such being the maintainer of consistency, spelling, etc.

Lakituthequick bows
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and while not exactly specific roles, Gabumon and _2257 are listed as staff consultants as they have a ton of experience in nitty gritty things that I rely on, and I trust their judgment on tough internal decisions
 <@_2257>
thanks
 <Gabumon>
we're removing mario from all polls this year, right
 <NinjaSquid>
sounds good
 <@turb3>
i agree
 <Rose>
Finally
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
as a whole, the committee meets each week to run through a set list of topics, such as removing mario from all polls this year, to make quickfire decisions or decide if something needs more discussion
 <Smasher>
mario is dead :crabrave:
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
the general discussion board, here: https://www.marioboards.com/threads/43605/ conveniently has a list of relevant links and resources we will be using
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
the full list https://docs.google.com/document/d/17UqmmbRi62NbK3clskZAN2hitNPeZF7F_9tDr615MJU/edit is our working poll document where changes will be recorded
 <Rose>
Insert big changes joke here etc etc

nico has joined #mwikiawards
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this schedule https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GQKyI9ObRmaW1PQuXRBYJQlE_CGtVn2x5LQz703csqc/edit will be mostly followed, but is subject to change as per announcements made as necessary
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
16th = Meeting – First Meeting (Mario -> Fail -> Community) Begin Planning Tournaments
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and that's today!
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so that's what we're doing
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
as we run through each award, whoever is in charge of the meeting, whether it is myself, turb if I am absent, ltq if we're both absent, etc., will introduce the subject and decide the current topic of discussion to be held in focus
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
should a vote need to be made, the person in charge will declare a vote in a set format, like so, and people will respond as per the options given
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Vote: Does this make sense? (y/n/a)

while the intent of a vote is to garner a majority, they often tend to be somewhat loose and more to gauge consensus
 <Rose>

 <@Anton{Politoed}>
for example, if a preliminary vote ends up being like 4-5-2, while technically No has the most votes, I'll likely declare further discussion necessary
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and we'll either do that, or move discussion to the forum to have more prolonged dialogue
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
any questions before we move on?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I'm set and ready to go.
 <NinjaSquid>
i'm all good
 <Rose>
a
 <@turb3>
i'm good
 <BBQ_Turtle>
I'm ready to go. :)
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
as always, as Director I do hold privilege of final say on things
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is not exactly something I wield loosely, and pretty much always defer to group vote whether it agrees with me or not
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but sometimes I need to move things along, or make things easier for myself
 <Smasher>
sorry, had to step out for a bit. ready to go
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
now that *Introduction is complete on my list, up next is
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
*Open floor for questions or introducing topics
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
before we begin, along with general questions, does anyone have any major topic they would like to bring up that will require placement within our schedule to go over?
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
or just something you would like to make sure is covered this year
 <Rose>
Are we going to go over the annual Discord discussion again At Some Point, or did we feel settled on everyone's points last year
 <@_2257>
lets remove hammer bros from worst enemy
 <@turb3>
the only thing i want to bring up is already on the schedule personally
 <Uniju>
y
 <@turb3>
oh discord is ag ood point i think
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we can certainly bring that back up, as feelings may have changed
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I can't think of anything else that I strongly feel needs to be brought up.
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i got nothing
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
is this referring to holding the Chat Party that goes on during the ceremony to occur on discord rather than irc? or meetings? or both?
 <Smasher>
nothing from me
 <Rose>
Chat Party in particular
 <NinjaSquid>
nothing in particular from me
 <Rose>
As happy as I am with irc for it I know people still have their foot in the door over Discord
 <Rose>
Or at least did
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
(Did we finish the Kamek poll, as an aside, out of curiosity? Do we need to promote that more?)
 <@_2257>
i dont think theres any point in moving the meetings
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i feel like the wiki discord has grown more... different? it's got its own pool of regulars who pretty much just stick there and to the wiki
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
ok, as that is something that isn't immediately pressing (i.e. decision needed by next meeting) I'll put it in my notes as something to either move discussion onto the forum or slot a space for it into a future meeting
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
if anything i feel there's less reason
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
but yeah i'll hold off until we do the main discussion
 <@_2257>
if people want to participate in the meetings, but they don't care enough to open an irc client, did they *really* want to participate
 <@turb3>
yeah the chat party is the main thing i'd want to discuss regardless
 <@turb3>
regarding the poll, pitohui, that is on the schedule
 <@turb3>
which is what i wanted to bring up
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
any further topics before I move to mine?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I have no other topics to raise.
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
eggcellent
 <Lakituthequick>
I have no topics
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
that brings me to my first topic
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
-Crowdsignal
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we went over this in a panic near the end of last year, but to tl;dr recap
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Crowdsignal, formerly PollDaddy, is our method of conducting polls as well as where all results in pretty much the entire history of our polls are held
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and they have transitioned away from free accounts that are worth anything
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
they have capped free accounts at a set number of "signals" (votes) that is substantially less than we get in a single year, probably around what we get from 2 polls and we run 60
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
or 55, I need to math
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
55
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
once the account exhausts its signals, while votes may still be collected and polls made, results are no longer visible
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
leaving us with the preliminary options of: 1) finding another poll source, which is exceedingly difficult
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
2) purchasing a full account, which is $15 per month at a current discount rate
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
or 3) moving to the poll committees (?) account which porple pays for
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
1, as I said, is difficult; 2 means money; 3 means relinquishing privacy and control that I just simply refuse to do and would default to option 2 in that case
 <Gabumon>
I mean, how long do awards polls run
 <Gabumon>
2 months?
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
4 weeks
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
correct, that is something I considered
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and is something we can still do should our evil scheme fail
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
which brings me to our evil scheme
 <Gabumon>
4 weeks +/- 1-2 for making the polls and counting the results I guess
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we have a bot(?) that skims data from crowdsignal that we have used for like 5 years now that makes tallying polls a livable experience
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
few of us here, I think blocky, turb, myself, have gone through the gauntlet of manually tallying write-in votes
 <@turb3>
wearing my i survived the manual tallying shirt
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
it's a very arduous process and I feel violates several human rights
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i can confirm manual tallying is basically the equivalent of torture
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so our scheme is to see if this bot can continue gleaning information from the results that still exist but are not visible to us
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
should this work, hallelujah, down with capitalism
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but to test it we need to exhaust all of our Signals first
 <Smasher>
fight the power
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
https://poll.fm/10593967/
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Exhaust our $ignals
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so please vote in this bullshit poll roughly 600 more times
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we'll keep you guys updated on our progress as this goes on, as well as badger you all for more votes as necessary
 <Smasher>
# ivoted
 <@_2257>
am i allowed to voe more than once
 <Gabumon>
I voted and I'll ask some of my peeps
 <@turb3>
yeah
 <@turb3>
it shouldn't be discarding repeat votes
 <Lakituthequick>
Will mass vote after the meeting
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I've stuck it in a few Discord servers before and told folks to vote daily
 <@turb3>
#i voted
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
correct, I turned off all protections on that poll so you can just go back to the https://poll.fm/10593967/ link and vote again
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Maybe I can stick it in the staff notes for tomorrow's issue too somehow, squeeze some extra votes out that way
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
no need for anything fancy
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
oh good idea
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
any questions on this Crowdsignal topic?
 <Rose>
Is Kamek winning
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I don't have any questions on it at this time.
 <Goombuigi>
Not from me
 <Lakituthequick>
Kamek
 <Lakituthequick>
26% (1,194 votes)
 <Smasher>
ive nothing to add here
 <Smasher>
Kamek
 <Rose>
Nice I was hoping he was ahead
 <Smasher>
im glad all the kameks are fairly even
 <Lakituthequick>
Last year I got them to be exactly equal
 <Lakituthequick>
All four of them
 <BBQ_Turtle>
If the bot thing didn't end up working, in a worst-case scenario would you be able to purchase an account to view the votes that had been cast before opening the account?
 <NinjaSquid>
I don't have any questions.
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
yes, going from a free account to a paid account will unlock all results
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is basically a gambit to save me some money
 <@_2257>
whats the number we're trying to hit
 <@_2257>
5000?
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
because if I suddenly had to pay more per month than what I did for maintaining the entire userpedia site, I will eventually stop
 <BBQ_Turtle>
OK, I was just checking it wasn't going to be a time restricted thing out of curiosity. It'd be nice for you to not have to pay. :)
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
it was like 2500 but the shitty coding doesn't register all of them
 <Rose>
Everybody venmo Anton five dollars per month
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
like it registers the votes in the polls, those aren't lost
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but their Free Signals tracker doesn't
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
moving onto the next subject now
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
-Viewing time for presentations
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is something routinely brought up each year, having enough time to view presentations during the ceremony as they roll out
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
last year we increased the time of the intermissions between each event and section by 5 minutes
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
question is, was it enough? should we do something else?
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
how did everyone feel with the pacing last year, if you can recall
 <NinjaSquid>
what is the current time?
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
20 minutes between each ceremony
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
5 minutes between each presentation
 <@turb3>
I didn't have a personal problem with the pacing, but as somebody who does behind the scenes stuff, coordination, and trying to finish a presentation on the day of the ceremony 90% of the time, i usually reread after the ceremony is over
 <@turb3>
so i'm interested in hearing whether other people also do the same
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
15 minute intermission halfway through Mario
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
https://www.marioboards.com/threads/42135/ you can view the times here
 <@turb3>
rereading after the fact that is
 <Rose>
I thought last year's pace was totally fine. I feel like a lot of that discussion was caused by the few video presentations we had back to back, which was just coincidence over everything
 <@_2257>
i think this is kind of an unsolvable problem because what people really want is 5d clocks that will allow us to pack 55 10 minute periods into 2 hours
 <Rose>
I do also usually go back and revisit but that's just my preference to do
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i read insanely fast so it never registers ot me lol
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I didn't have any problems with the pacing last year, myself.
 <Lakituthequick>
5 minutes is not bad on itself
 <Gabumon>
I mean, a lot of presentations take more than 5 minutes to get through anyway
 <Gabumon>
so what even is pacing
 <Lakituthequick>
I personally try to make presentations that can be enjoyed in <5 minutes
 <Smasher>
i generally have to reread regardless, but i thought the pacing was fine
 <Goombuigi>
I thought the pacing was good, it mostly gave me enough time to go through everything, and the intermissions helped with that
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
the goal is to savor presentations but not spend the entire day doing so
 <NinjaSquid>
5 minutes can be a bit short, but I guess if we make it longer, the ceremony will just be way too long in the end, so...
 <BBQ_Turtle>
Yeah, I didn't feel like the timings were way off last year. A couple of presentations I didn't quite get through in time, but they were few and far between so the time was made up when viewing shorter ones.
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
it's hard to enforce time limits on presentations because we can't assess that until we receive them
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Yeah, the presentations take how long they take. It can get tight here or there, but with the intermissions, it's not hard to catch up
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and sending back a presentation to be reworked sucks for everyone involved
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i think the other thing about making it longer is
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Besides the length of the ceremony
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
If we bump up the time
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I think it would increase that fixation on "my presentation must be a masterpiece"
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
5 minutes is a very easy time to solve. everything is in multiples of 5, everything is even, etc
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but if general feelings is to not mind going back and rereading, then the problem is effectively moot
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
if we even just make it 6 minutes per presentation that requires a lot more manual work and calculation
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we also don't want presenters to feel like they were skipped over
 <Gabumon>
let's bring back lists
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
:nicoshake:
 <NinjaSquid>
the problem mostly rely on the length of someone's presentation. If it is something that is readable in more than 5 minutes, it tend to make you miss some presentations in the end.
 <Lakituthequick>
:realgun:
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but assessing that in real time is up to community management that I tend to try and personally cover
 <BBQ_Turtle>
Also, I think five minutes doesn't feel too empty for shorter presentations, but longer times might end up running that risk.
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so basically what I'm getting here is:
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
*pacing last year was fine,
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
*general understanding of going back and viewing
 <Lakituthequick>
I'm in favour of keeping five-minute slots with the intermissions
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
*encourage presenters to fit within a general 5 minute window, but don't objectively deny it
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
kinks in this process can be managed by hosts
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and historically have been
 <Rose>
y
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
That's about my take on it, yes
 <Lakituthequick>
yes
 <@turb3>
that's pretty good
 <Goombuigi>
Sounds good
 <NinjaSquid>
yeah
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
y
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
gr8, if that's the case we can move to my next and final 'large' subject
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
which is more of just an announcement to mull over
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
-Removing M23 Favorite Capture; need new award idea
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is following up on a decision last year
 <NinjaSquid>
brb
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Super Mario Odyssey, while a nice game with plenty of content, is moving towards the past, and maybe a dedicated award to it may not be the freshest thing
 <Gabumon>
favorite nintendo scam
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
valid
 <Gabumon>
switch online, 3d all-stars temporary bullshit, mario kart gacha
 <Rose>
Oh I forgot we can rag on 3D All-Stars this year
 <Smasher>
i hate that we can actual fill this category up
 <Rose>
Exciting
 <Lakituthequick>
I have a list of Mario games that released in the past year
 <Lakituthequick>
For when it is relevant
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so basically from now until when we get to M23, which is likely 2 weeks from today, ponder what may serve as a new award idea, or if, huh, actually, favorite capture still feels cool
 <@turb3>
can't believe mario games actually came out last year
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we don't need to decide on what the new award is by then
 <Gabumon>
if nobody comes up with an actual replacement, I will submit that as an actual suggestion
 <@_2257>
wouldnt that be mroe of a fail award
 <Rose>
When do we get the Favorite Depiction of Bowser award
 <BBQ_Turtle>
While I don't have any brilliant replacement ideas now, I do think it's probably time to replace Favourite Capture.
 <Gabumon>
no, we gotta stay positive, 2257
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
yeah that's my only complaint
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
biggest nintnedo fuckery would make a great fail award
 <Gabumon>
we love nintendo's hands in our wallets
 <Smasher>
legitimately wouldnt be against this as a fail award
 <@_2257>
it *would* be kind of funny
 <Rose>
I'm tossing out this legitimate suggestion before I forget to use it later
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so with that all said, we can begin running through the Mario Awards
 <NinjaSquid>
Favorite Remake perhaps?
 <Lakituthequick>
Is this where I paste said list
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
yes, you may
 <Rose>
It could be worthwhile to have Favorite 3D Mission, if that doesn't interfere with Favorite Level too much, since Bowser's Fury has all of the additional shines to it
 <Lakituthequick>
New games:
 <Lakituthequick>
- Paper Mario: The Origami King - Nintendo Switch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Nintendo Switch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Super Mario Bros. 35 - Nintendo Switch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit - Nintendo Switch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. - Game & Watch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - Nintendo Switch
 <Lakituthequick>
- Mario Golf: Super Rush - Nintendo Switch (UPCOMING)
 <Rose>
I'll mention that again later tm
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
oh yeah that mario kart live thing came out, huh
 <Lakituthequick>
"new" might be an overstatement fr some of these but this released
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
it just kinda came out and everyone stopped talking
 <@_2257>
favorite mario kart live track
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Super Rush is after polls open, at least
 <Lakituthequick>
Yeah
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
important note, the mario golf game comes out June 25th, and our polls open June 13th, rendering it invalid for our purposes
 <Lakituthequick>
No Golf on awards this year
 <Smasher>
i absolutely forgot mario kart live exists
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
while we may get write-ins for it that we end up counting in whatever award they may be, we just simply can't include it on Day 1 and ultimately formally
 <Lakituthequick>
But it's There and probably will be written in in some places
 <Smasher>
makes sense
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is what happened with Origami King as well
 <Lakituthequick>
Nintendo should stop releasing games in June
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so, here we go
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
M1 Best Sound Design (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Mario 64, Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Super Paper Mario, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze,
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Paper Mario: Color Splash, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Luigi's Mansion 3)
 <Lakituthequick>
14) Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - 54 - 2.85%
 <Lakituthequick>
15) Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - 34 - 1.79%
 <Lakituthequick>
16) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - 30 - 1.58%
 <Lakituthequick>
17) O. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 8 - 0.42%

18) O. Mario Kart Wii - 6 - 0.32%
 <Lakituthequick>
19) O. Super Mario Maker 2 - 5 - 0.26%
 <Rose>
Origami King absolutely deserves imo to be on sound design
 <Lakituthequick>
Add: Paper Mario: The Origami King
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
again, you may follow along here https://docs.google.com/document/d/17UqmmbRi62NbK3clskZAN2hitNPeZF7F_9tDr615MJU/edit
 <Rose>
Yeah
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Add Origami King
 <Lakituthequick>
TOK's soundtrack is amazing
 <Smasher>
was just about to ask if something that came out this year deserved it
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
and here is the complete results document from last year that ltq is pulling the numbers from https://docs.google.com/document/d/17UqmmbRi62NbK3clskZAN2hitNPeZF7F_9tDr615MJU/edit
 <Smasher>
and by something i basically just mean origami king
 <Goombuigi>
I agree to add TOK
 <Smasher>
i havent played it but ill trust the judgement
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
for all of our polls we do have some limits
 <NinjaSquid>
same as smasher
 <Smasher>
i dont really think i care about removing anything here

marty has joined #mwikiawards
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
hard minimum of 5, soft limit of 15, hard limit of 18
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this was due to limitations in the polldaddy polls, which is now no longer true
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but I'm retaining it so we don't encourage increasingly longer and longer lists
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Other than that, I don't think that any of the other releases have anything to offer here, unless SMB35 has a banging soundtrack I've missed out on (and none of the write-ins come close enough to deserve a push)
 <Rose>
SMB35 is nah
 <Lakituthequick>
it's got a catchy title screen but that's about it i guess
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
oops I pasted the same document
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
silly copy paste
 <NinjaSquid>
can we remove 64 and add sunshine :P
 <@turb3>
smb35 i don't even remember as having music
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C9osOJ-LYSoRhq5Wnu1kjRKSE2iG7RuQ-k9Pr7_A3xc/edit#
 <@turb3>
i am fine with adding origami king

i guess

live is a good point

I don't see a reason to exclude Live
 <@turb3>
we can just add that and move on I assume
 <Lakituthequick>
Live can be considered
 <@_2257>
i suppose there's no reason to not add it
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
live does indeed exist
 <@turb3>
we're trying to encompass every single mario kart game i assume

otherwise we wouldn't have bothered with the arcades

On the other hand, we didn't at Tour either
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is the full name

we have the arcades, no real reason to exclude that one

it's just weirdly placed

if we have tour and all the arcades

then yeah
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
add live

given that this award is pretty much all-inclusive, there's not much reason to not add Live or to remove anything despite how miserable they scored

right

so, for clarity, adding "Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit"

i think the only thing to do is replace 3d with 3d+bf, right
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
We should change "Super Mario 3D World" to "Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury" (and maybe do that for M1, too?)
 <Smasher>
i dont feel strongly on this one

yea

ok yeah, add bowser's fury to 3d world

actually good point

yeah i'm fine just leaving this as is

 <Rose>
Million dollar devil's advocate, do we tag Bowser's Fury onto 3D World or do we count it as its own thing

is there any reason to not just globally replace 3dw with 3dwbf

and doing that

remove the remake tag of the nominee

 <@_2257>
look at how*
 <Lakituthequick>
Looking at the polls it appears that there is indeed multiple names for those
 <Lakituthequick>
So adding the +BF would make sense
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
The only thing I can think of is people folding Bowser's Minions and Bowser's Junior's Journey into just SS and BiS
 <Lakituthequick>
For both this one and M1
 <Rose>
Is there enough of a difference between the Wii U version of 3D World and the Switch version to list them with a /
 <Rose>
I know that some physics and mechanics changed but
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
god i hope not
 <@_2257>
i dont think so
 <Lakituthequick>
there's a whole new mode Rose
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Hmm...
 <NinjaSquid>
yeah, there was multiple minor changes
 <@turb3>
i thought the only difference was just the mode
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Not in 3D World itself, no
 <Lakituthequick>
True
 <@turb3>
did the game mechanics change
 <NinjaSquid>
in 3D world in mean

Right, but I mean like, are people gonna be like "hnnngggggg the Switch version is so different in the main game!"

3d world mode IS different, but not much

just a second

ive only played bowser's fury so i would know nothing about 3d world switch & knuckles

 <@Anton{Politoed}>
if they go hnnnng they'll just write in "i specifically vote for _" like they do with sm64 and I'll just lump it in regardless

 <@turb3>
for addition

?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I feel the same way, Rose
 <NinjaSquid>
grumble volcano being so low is embarrassing
 <Lakituthequick>
Is there anything mindblowing in Tour yet
 <@turb3>
it's not at all close to the wii u version of the track, they redid it very heavily
 <Smasher>
neither of which i particularly care about, so!
 <@turb3>
but i do think it could be viable for switching out possibly
 <Rose>
Can we add My Living Room
 <@turb3>
but it's close to tick tock clock and stuff so _
 <Smasher>
Rose's Living Room
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I don't know that N64 Rainbow Road is close enough to add over Grumble Volcano
 <Smasher>
not sure if anything in tour is worth adding or not?
 <NinjaSquid>
i don't really like N64 Rainbow Road tbh
 <Lakituthequick>
N64 RR is just long
 <Lakituthequick>
That's it
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I've not heard any glowing praise for Tour or Live courses
 <Lakituthequick>
That's the ciurse
 <Rose>
I don't see a big reason to swap it out rn
 <Smasher>
for the record im indifferent to that switch - if anything i recall rainbow road 64 being on here before and getting swapped out due to not doing well
 <Rose>
Yeah same @ smasher
 <@turb3>
personally i'd rather have grumble volcano because it's more unique
 <Lakituthequick>
I remember when it got really high as a writein
 <NinjaSquid>
grumble volcano is a fun course
 <Lakituthequick>
That was like 6 yarsa go
 <@turb3>
n64 rainbow road and the wii u version of the track are both different but n64 version is just long
 <Gabumon>
I think like
 <Smasher>
so id *probably* lean towards keeping this award as is, i just noted it because it makes the most sense as a switch
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
I'm doing some research really quick
 <Smasher>
i just dont care know if i want one
 <Gabumon>
our personal feelings regarding those courses are probably less important
 <@turb3>
yeah that's true
 <Gabumon>
I would consider the switch if the write-ins were like, closer to 16
 <@turb3>
i just don't think the votes indicate enough of a gap
 <@turb3>
if rainbow road n64 was higher, much more above tick tock clock and wild woods, i'd be very on board
 <Gabumon>
under the current circumstances I don't think it's warranted enough
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
The votes aren't close enough for me to swap
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is only the 3rd time in 5 years that Rainbow Road (N64) has even been written in
 <@turb3>
and animal crossing and grumble volcano aren't that far from each other either
 <@turb3>
damn
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
two year it wasn't at all
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
that affets my perception a lot
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
last year, while not the most votes, is its highest placement
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
it's not like we ave a consistent contigent of desperate rr (n64) fans

 <Lakituthequick>
same

same

same

 <@Anton{Politoed}>
any rainbow road 64 fans, this is your year to pack the votes

so if that's consensus, no changes to M4

 <Smasher>
yeah im ok with leaving m4 as is /late
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we cycle these out each year to maintain some sense of freshness, as at one point we had pretty much every iteration of them and the results were stagnant and dull, and took up time and space
 <Gabumon>
has anything noteworthy happened to either of those series recently
 <Lakituthequick>
Yoshi got a game in 2019
 <Rose>
When was Yoshi last yeah
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
Game, Level, Character is what we cycle with, and up next is Level which was last done in 2018
 <Lakituthequick>
As this year's cycle would be level I wrote it down but I don't have the game
 <@turb3>
oh boy
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we can certainly discuss doing something different
 <@turb3>
level
 <Rose>
Oh god I always forget how these awards works
 <@turb3>
finally can petition to put krack shot kroc on
 <Rose>
I keep thinking we cycle through series, not category
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Rose we had this discussion like two weeks ago
 <@turb3>
didn't blocky or someone mention doing something different with these though
 <Rose>
I know
 <@turb3>
or was that last year
 <Rose>
And I still forgot
 <@turb3>
time is an enigma
 <NinjaSquid>
I like the level in Yoshi's Crafted World, with the axe wielding clown puppets
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i brought up the concept of having it be a fourth category to account for how little focus these three get, but i didn't have a speciifc idea for the fourth
 <Lakituthequick>
axe wielding clown puppets
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Crafted World was a good game
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
just "idk something new maybe???" in my notes
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
if there's considerable thought in doing something different, we can discuss that here briefly and heave it over to the forums
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
so unless we can come up with a good one, i say we just go back to level
 <Lakituthequick>
did not expect to hear those four words today
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i.e. it's not good to force it for the sake thereof
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
OH
 <Rose>
You're telling me you don't want Favorite Background Element
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
WAIT
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
I REMEMBER
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
MUSIC
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
THAT WAS THE IDEA
 <Rose>
Oh!
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Oh. That could be reasonable
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
splitting off the OSTs for these games into awards for tracks here
 <Lakituthequick>
Refresh my mind
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
away from our existing ones
 <Gabumon>
if you do wario level, get ready for an influx of "I don't know any of these, what the hell is a toxic landfill" write-ins
 <NinjaSquid>
Be Afraid of the Dark
 <Rose>
I like music because then we can nominate New Island for none of it
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we do have two music awards already, lyrical and instrumental, would this idea add to that or be essentially redundant
 <Gabumon>
I think I'm like one of the only 4 people in the world who care about wario land
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I presume this would be completely instrumental, Perch?
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
yes, and it would split off like with the levels
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
ie.
 <Lakituthequick>
For reference here is the 2018 full list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U-xcZsE8arNBgiYbeb3N4GVsobczDv6YpI8kYp3qYL8/edit
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
or would it necessitate a change in the other two to be tighter, as M5-7 currently forced other level awards and such to focus purely on Mario
 <Lakituthequick>
and results: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uDZt_DucxvdKpLAALklRGAVCVohrUIi8j4zZa84B0UU/edit#heading=h.uw2qwtqrc78o
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
when we created the wario/yoshi/dk level awards, we narrowed down the existing - yes
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
that's the idea
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
our existing two music awards would be narrowe ddown to just mario
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
and music from these series would be solely in these awards
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Lyrical songs is pretty sparse without the subseries though
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
hmm
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Would it make sense to just narrow down instrumental
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
And leave lyrical all-inclusive
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
we could try that?
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
lyrical has a much smaller pool in general, after all
 <Lakituthequick>
DK and Yoshi I could see working with music
 <BBQ_Turtle>
I think that would be best to keep the numbers of nominees consistent.
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
whereas instrumental could easily pull together 18 from just like
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
two games alone
 <@turb3>
yeah agreed
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
DK and Wario songs populate top results in Lyrical pretty well, but in Instrumental it's a complete wash of all Mario
 <Lakituthequick>
Wario isn't really known for music I thik?
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
ltq is this greenhorn forest erasure i hear
 <Rose>
Wario is the only issue I see with music yeah
 <@turb3>
wario music owns but the voters don't feel that way
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
So, Favorite Yoshi instrumental track, Favorite DK instrumental Track, Favorite Wario Instrumental Track, Favorite Mario Instrumental Track, and Favorite Lyrical Song
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Rose are you kidding
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
that'd be the idea!
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Wario World and Wario Land music
 <@turb3>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrVFG9lqzX4
 <@turb3>
exhibit A
 <Rose>
Donkey Kong would definitely benefit from music
 <BBQ_Turtle>
Donkey Kong could easily fill an instrumental music nominees list.
 <Rose>
I'm sure it's good
 <Smasher>
yeah if we were to do his id leave lyrical as is
 <Rose>
But does anybody know any Wario music outside of this meeting
 <@turb3>
i will work on a wario instrumental music list myself if i have to
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7kwoHOciDM this song just
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
sums up wario as a character
 <Lakituthequick>
I recognise the greenhorn music, looking it up
 <NinjaSquid>
I would agree with doing music
 <Rose>
Oh yeah I know this track
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
[s]brb gonna start a Palette Swap section showcasing Wario Music for the plebians[/s]
 <Smasher>
i cant name a specific wario tune besides the one that randomly got added as warios victory theme in smash and like, the warioware theme
 <Rose>
Guest section just for when awards starts
 <NinjaSquid>
Yoshi's Island and Woolly World both have some great musics
 <Rose>
OH
 <Smasher>
but i also am bad at music
 <Rose>
I forgot about WarioWare too
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
Rose...
 <Rose>
Although I guess the most memorable WW songs are lyrical huh
 <Smasher>
can we expel rose
 <Rose>
Please
 <NinjaSquid>
although, I can't be of help with Wario
 <NinjaSquid>
sorry
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Anyways, I support Perch's plan and the idea of "narrow down instrumental to Mario and leave Lyrical all-inclusive"
 <Lakituthequick>
Guess Wario does have music
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
alright, so what I will do later is create a forum topic for this in our staff board, list each music award option and generate or open a nominee listing for them
 <Smasher>
i think im ok with this idea
 <NinjaSquid>
sounds good
 <Smasher>
the dk music award is going to own
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
as well as generate nominees for each respective Levels award should we decide to not pursue the music option
 <Goombuigi>
Yeah, I agree
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we can then discuss and vote
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
[s]i've got it: replace favorite capture with favorite DKC cartoon song[/s]
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Sounds like a plan
 <Smasher>
:rainghost:
 <Rose>
I will singlehandedly get Aquatic Ambience to number one on the polls -says before Stickerbrush Symphony wins
 <@turb3>
sounds like a good idea
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
[s]Pander to Glowsquid and add "Favorite DK Planet segment"[/s]
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this might take me some time so don't expect it to appear quickly, or complete, but I will certainly work on it to be ready by 2 meetings from now
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so with that, M5, M6, and M7 are shelved for later
 <Gabumon>

i need to play wario land 4

Origami?
 <Rose>
I think Origami fits Paper Mario fine
 <Smasher>
paper mario is there
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
with this award I feel it's necessary to bring up a document we began a couple years ago to help keep discussion tight
 <Smasher>
i dont feel a need to split it
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
https://www.marioboards.com/threads/43693/
 <Lakituthequick>
Origami is PM but I do see why it would make sence

award definitions
 <BBQ_Turtle>
Slightly off-topic, but the Kamek poll has just tipped over 5,000 votes.
 <@_2257>
origami falls under the same rubric as considering mario galaxy and mario 64 the same thing imo
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
369 signals left to exhaust
 <Lakituthequick>
That said I do think it falls under the PM umbrella just fine
 <Smasher>
agreed
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I see the point with Origami but I think it works in PM
 <Lakituthequick>
I was the 4999 th vote
 <Rose>
Origami does a lot of unique things with world design but it's still PM so
 <@turb3>
i agree with 22
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
M8 - Favorite Art Style - The best visual style used in Mario media. This features prominently used, distinct, and recognizable art styles, but does not include one-off styles. A focus is placed on overall aesthetics over deviations due to hardware limitations (for example: SM64 looks different from SMG, but this seems to be a product of hardware limitations
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
rather than artistic choice. Promotional renderings of the game show Mario in the familiar main series style. Therefore, we do not recognize SM64 as its own art style).
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I have an off-the-wall thought for this one, though
 <@turb3>
i guess in some level they've been taking different approaches with how "paper" the series is though
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
A lot of Nintendo promotional stuff over the years have used, like, felt puppets

https://www.mariowiki.com/Izzy
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
https://www.mariowiki.com/Shitamachi_Ninj%C5%8D_Gekij%C5%8D

Is that something worth considering?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
(I don't really think it fits but I'm throwing it out anyways)
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
"Mario urges Toad to kill his victim."
 <Rose>
It coooould work but I don't think it's gonna be a thing people are like "yeah this is my favorite"
 <@_2257>
i dont know but we definitely should put shitamachi ninjou gekijou on here lmao
 <@_2257>
maybe not on this award but somewhere
 <Rose>
It feels too moment to moment on when the puppets pop up
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
That's my take, Rose
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
" Bill Gates explains to Mario and Toad the true purpose of Windows 95."
 <Smasher>
>Mario urges Toad to kill his victim is actually real
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
There's never really been a consistent use, just one-offs for various random things
 <Smasher>
i love this article already
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
>implying toad needed encouragement
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this gives me an idea for an award for like Favorite Article or like favorite wiki line
 <Smasher>
im gonna just say that i agree with rose's take and i personally think this award is good as is
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
would be Community Awards territory
 <Rose>
Oooo
 <Rose>
I do like that
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Since this article has the template, I just want to tell you you did a really good job with the construction templates, 22
 <Smasher>
ok that's not a bad idea
 <Rose>
Favorite Rare Sentence
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i'd be down for it
 <Smasher>
yes
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
would also necessitate a community award cut
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
people praise rare sentences all the time!
 <Lakituthequick>
Those are good ideas yeah
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
That could work
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
or, perhaps, a return to C11-15
 <BBQ_Turtle>
How exactly would something like that work though?
 <Lakituthequick>
👀
 <NinjaSquid>
Can Super Smash Bros. style be consider?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I'd have to think about what would be worth cutting, though, or if we could make enough to justify extra awards
 <Rose>
We'll just cut the Community Achievement award, it's not like that one's very important or anything
 <Lakituthequick>
>Smash
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
don't know, but it can be discussed, I'll make a New Award Incubator topic on the forum and plop it in
 <Smasher>
In the magazine, many vulgar instances can be noted, from smoking and oral sex, to Mario killing Princess Peach and Toad.
 <Smasher>
why the hell has no one ever told me about this
 <Smasher>
what is this series
 <@turb3>
super mario fact award
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Glowsquid talks about it all the time
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Ask him
 <@_2257>
thanks pitphui
 <NinjaSquid>
Smash looks a bit more realistic
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
" Bowser and Mario surprised to find Peach and Toad having oral sex."
 <Smasher>
:fuck:
 <Honoka_Chaosaka>
i would be surprise!
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
but back to M8, are there other instances of this felt design
 <Lakituthequick>
this sounds like it might be inappropriate to add
 <Lakituthequick>
*too inappropriate
 <Rose>
There's the uhhhh Reggie and gang felt puppets from that one time
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I feel like there are but uhhh
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Oh

The Cat Mario Show
 <Lakituthequick>
What a series
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Google, die. Don't add text onto my URLS
 <Lakituthequick>
https://www.mariowiki.com/The_Cat_Mario_Show here you go
 <Rose>
"Marketable plushies artstyle"
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
That's all I can think of off the top of my head but there might be something or another more obscure out there
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
what would a prospective nominee for this be called
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
felt doesn't feel too accurate, but perhaps leaning towards puppetry
 <Rose>
Life action puppet?
 <Rose>
*Live
 <BBQ_Turtle>
Would the Woolly Yoshi shorts fall under that banner too?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Promotional Mario Puppets?
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
There are Woolly Yoshi shorts?
 <Rose>
Oh yeah the Woolly shorts
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
yoshi in shorts would be cute
 <Rose>
Yeah but those aren't puppets, they're plushies
 <BBQ_Turtle>
I don't know how they're done, I just know they exist.
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I'll be
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R3d0dDRb7g
 <Rose>
So they aren't exactly the same thing
 <Lakituthequick>
Yeah Yoshi things are stop-motion
 <BBQ_Turtle>
If it's stop motion it could kind of count?
 <Lakituthequick>
With the amiibo of them
 <Rose>
It is puppetry arguably, just, a different kind
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
this is indescribably cute
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
https://www.mariowiki.com/Yoshi_Theater_(Poochy_%26_Yoshi%27s_Woolly_World)
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
Wiki calls 'em puppets
 <Rose>
Well, it works then
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
stop-motion lingo also refers to them as puppets

Goombuigi has left (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
 <BBQ_Turtle>
They also did a bunch of the LINE gifs in the same style.
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so, what we need here is a concise nominee name that implies referring to all of these examples
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
live-action puppet style, something like that
 <Gabumon>
how well known is this stuff actually
 <Lakituthequick>
I think "live-action" wouldn't be accurate here, but "stop-motion" would work
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I think "Live-action puppet style" works fine, actually
 <Rose>
Stop motion isn't quite accurate for the actual puppets though
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I think it's pretty obscure, Edo
 <Rose>
I think live action is a functional term
 <Gabumon>
like, if I saw "live-action puppet style" on a poll, I wouldn't know what that means
 <Smasher>
i don't really know much about this
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I feel like the only one i hear people bring up is really the Cat Mario Show, and only very rarely
 <@turb3>
i honestly probably wouldnt know about the puppet thing without the wiki
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
we do have a pretty generic "2D promotional artwork style" that isn't very specific, but I do admit it's easier to think of examples for that
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
it could be a valid nominee should we get a good name for it
 <Gabumon>
I just think if we aren't able to convey to the average internet passerby what we're referring to, maybe it's not meant to be
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
agreeable
 <@turb3>
understandable
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
I can get behind that.
 <Lakituthequick>
good point
 <Rose>
Yeah
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
so I'll leave it at that, but should the spark of inspiration hit someone either in the shower or on the bowl, do let me know
 <Hooded_Pitohui>
It's kind of a disjointed series of one-off things here and there
 <Smasher>
agreed with edo
 <@Anton{Politoed}>
let's see if we can ram one more in tonight
